  2. Pour the Sand Wax

Fill the container with granulated wax — no melting, no hot wax.

  3. Insert the Wick

Common questions

Any heat-safe container at least 3" in diameter works — ceramic bowls, metal tins, or thick glass votive holders. Avoid thin glass, plastic, or wood. Wider containers keep the wax pool shallow and the flame stable.

Yes — that's the point. Remove the small hardened wax puddle, pour the remaining granules back into a jar, and reuse with a new wick next time. Or pour into a different vessel for a new look.

Yes, in three ways: (1) Self-extinguishing if tipped — loose granules smother the flame instead of spreading like liquid wax. (2) No hot wax pool to spill. (3) Cleaner burn — plant-based wax releases less soot than paraffin.

A 6oz container burns 20–40 hours; a 12oz container burns 40–80 hours. Sand candles burn slower than traditional candles because only a small pool of wax melts at any given time.

Sand Wax Candles: Made from granulated plant-based wax — a soy and coconut blend — that you simply pour into any heat-safe vessel and light. Only the wax immediately around the flame melts; the surrounding granules stay dry and act as natural insulation. When you're done, scoop the unused granules back into the jar and reuse forever.

Choose sand candles if:

  • You hate wasteNothing gets thrown out — the wax, the wick, and the vessel all keep going.
  • You want safer candlesSelf-extinguishing if tipped, no hot wax pool, and no paraffin soot.
  • You love switching scentsSwap fragrance oils whenever the mood changes — no buying a whole new candle.
  • You want long burn timeA 6oz jar runs 20–40 hours; a 12oz jar runs 40–80 hours.
Note: Trim wicks to ¼ inch before each lighting. For stronger scent coverage, pair with a cold-air diffuser.

Troubleshooting

Wick Extinguishes Quickly?

This usually happens if the wick is not inserted deep enough. Ensure only the very tip (1/4") is exposed above the pearls. If too much wick is showing, it burns too fast!

Melt Pool Too Wide?

If the container is getting too hot, check that you have at least 2 inches of clearance between the wick and the container edge.
