Aroma360 Financing: Is It a Subscription or a Finance Agreement?
WORK OUT WHAT YOU SIGNED
A subscription and a finance agreement are not the same thing.
This is the single most common point of confusion we see people describe about Aroma360, and it matters more than any other detail: cancelling ends a subscription, but a financed purchase has to be settled. Aroma360's published policy is explicit that the VIP Bundle is not a subscription and may involve a financing arrangement. This page explains the difference in plain terms and how to check which one your paperwork describes.
- Oil subscription
- Cancel, subject to terms
- VIP Bundle
- Stated as not a subscription
- If financed
- Up to 36 months

THE SHORT ANSWER
Is the Aroma360 VIP Bundle a subscription or a finance agreement?
According to Aroma360's own published policy, the Free Diffuser with Oil Deliveries promotion — the VIP Bundle — is not a subscription. Their policy states it is a bundled product offering with its own terms, that customers may "enter into a financing arrangement subject to its own terms and conditions", and that financed customers are subject to a payment obligation of up to 36 months. A recurring oil subscription and a financed bundle are different things with different exit routes, so the first job is working out which one you hold.
- A subscription generally bills period to period and is ended by cancelling.
- A financed purchase is a credit agreement — it is settled, not cancelled.
- Aroma360's policy refers to a "financing agreement" and to default under it.

THE DIFFERENCE, PLAINLY
Two arrangements that feel the same at signup.
This comparison is general consumer information about how these two kinds of agreement usually work, not a description of any particular contract. Your own paperwork is what governs your situation.
| A subscription | A financed purchase | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | An ongoing service you pay for period by period | Credit used to buy goods, repaid over a fixed term |
| How it ends | You cancel it, subject to any minimum term | It is settled — the balance is paid or bought out |
| Who else is involved | Usually only the retailer | Often a separate finance company with its own agreement |
| If you stop paying | The service usually stops | It can become a default, with fees and collection activity |
| Credit reporting | Generally none | A credit agreement may be reported to credit bureaus |
| Pausing | Often possible | Pausing deliveries does not usually pause the obligation |

FIVE MINUTES WITH YOUR PAPERWORK
How to find out which one you hold.
You do not need to ask anyone to answer this. The documents you already have will tell you, and knowing the answer changes what you should ask for.
-
Search your email for the signup
Look for the confirmation from the date you enrolled. Search terms worth trying: agreement, financing, instalment, APR, term, disclosure, and the name of any company you do not recognise.
-
Check whether a second company appears
A financed purchase usually involves a finance provider as well as the retailer. If a company name you did not expect appears on statements, in your email, or on a payment descriptor, that is the thread to pull.
-
Look for credit-agreement language
Terms like annual percentage rate, finance charge, amount financed, total of payments, or a payment schedule indicate a credit agreement rather than a subscription. US lenders are generally required to disclose those terms.
-
Check what your bank statement actually says
The merchant name on the charge tells you who is collecting the money. If it is not the retailer, a third party is involved and you may need to deal with them separately.
-
Ask one precise question in writing
"Is my account a subscription or a financed purchase, and if financed, who is the finance provider and what is the outstanding balance?" Ask by email so the answer is in writing.
If it turns out a finance provider is involved, they are a separate business with their own obligations to you, and questions about balances, payments or defaults may need to go to them rather than to the retailer.
WHAT AROMA360 PUBLISHES
Their own words on financing and terms.
Summarised from the cancellation policy Aroma360 publishes on its own site, with the date each item was checked. We have not seen your agreement and cannot tell you what it says.
Per Aroma360's published cancellation policy, checked 4 Aug 2026. Terms vary by the specific agreement and plan you signed up under. Check your own account and paperwork for the terms that apply to you.
Aroma360 classifies the VIP Bundle as a bundled product offering with its own terms, and states that it is not a subscription.
The Free Diffuser with Oil Deliveries promotion is financed. After the initial 30-day window, financed customers are subject to a 36-month payment obligation under their financing arrangement.
A customer may cancel enrollment in the promotion within 30 calendar days of delivery. All delivered products, including the diffuser and any oils, must be returned in original, undamaged and resalable condition.
A Service Enrollment Fee may apply to the financed promotion. Aroma360 states that on a timely cancellation and return within the first 30 days, the financing arrangement is cancelled with no further obligation and the Service Enrollment Fee is refunded, if applicable.
To exit after the first 30 days but before the term completes, the customer pays an early termination balance equal to the MSRP of the diffuser and oils delivered to date, minus payments received to date. This can be settled as a lump sum or by continuing the original payment schedule.
When calculating an early termination balance, Aroma360 states that the value of undelivered products is deducted from the consumer's outstanding financed balance. In other words, you are not charged for oils that were never shipped.
Pausing or deferring oil shipments does not count toward satisfying the up-to-36-month term. Aroma360 states such interruptions may extend the term and may constitute a default under the financing agreement.
Aroma360 states that it may suspend or terminate a subscription where any amount is due but unpaid, and that a delinquent account will be charged fees incidental to any chargeback or collection, including collection fees. If a payment method is no longer valid at renewal, they reserve the right to withhold shipments until it is valid, or to delete the account.
WHY IT MATTERS
The answer changes what you should ask for.
Ask to cancel
Ask for cancellation and written confirmation of the closure date, and check whether a minimum term or a promotional discount repayment applies to you.
Ask for the balance
Cancelling is not the operative request. Ask for the outstanding balance, the payoff figure, the term remaining and who holds the agreement, all in writing.
Get it in writing
A dated written record of what you asked and what you were told is the most useful thing you can hold, whichever kind of agreement turns out to apply.
NOTHING TO SIGN
Oils bought outright.
We sell waterless fragrance oils by the bottle. There is no plan, no term and no agreement — you buy a bottle and that is the whole transaction. Check compatibility with your diffuser before ordering.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions people ask about this.
Is an Aroma360 subscription the same as financing a diffuser?
Not according to their published policy. Aroma360 states that the Free Diffuser with Oil Deliveries promotion is a bundled product offering that is not a subscription, that customers may enter into a financing arrangement subject to its own terms, and that financed customers are subject to a payment obligation of up to 36 months after the initial 30-day window. A recurring oil subscription is described separately with a 30-day minimum. Checked August 2026.
How do I know if I signed a finance agreement?
Check the paperwork from the date you enrolled for credit-agreement language such as annual percentage rate, finance charge, amount financed, total of payments or a payment schedule, and check whether a company other than the retailer appears on your statements or emails. If you are unsure, ask in writing whether the account is a subscription or a financed purchase and who holds the agreement.
Can I just cancel a financed purchase?
Generally no — a credit agreement is settled rather than cancelled, which is why the distinction matters. Aroma360's published policy describes a 30-day cancellation and return right on the promotion, and after that an early termination balance under their Wind-Down Process. The terms that apply to you are the ones in the agreement you signed, so check it and ask them to confirm your position in writing.
Does pausing deliveries pause the payments?
Aroma360's published policy states that pausing or deferring oil shipments does not count toward satisfying the up-to-36-month term, that interruptions may extend the term, and that they may constitute a default under the financing agreement. If you are considering pausing, ask them to confirm the effect on your term in writing first.
